What 2 – Markthalle IX – Streetfood in Berlin, Germany

Food halls are always interesting to me, since discovering the hall of Cagliari, Sardinia – I always like to see the local stalls, ingredients and people engaging in trade like it has been done in centuries. You don’t have to go into KaDeWe

MarktHalle IX is a rather young food hall. Opened 2012 is has stalls with Bio vegetables, fine German artisan spirits and some rather modern Street food outlets. Thursday is Street food day here but We visit Saturday around lunch time.

A short queue has formed.. why?
One counter for Cash and Drinks – Big Stuff smoked BBQ
Beers cheaper than water
The warm moist pork is shredded upon order
add medium spicy BBQ sauce
Apply Apple
Viola: Pulled Pork deliciousness
Carrots @ Market

Busy everywhere
And a curry wurst worth traveling for – seriously

A lovely visit in another temple of food and good life, go there!

Lessons learned

  • Street food is a growing discipline
  • This time the curry wurst won the spot in my memory
  • Life is good…
