Mikkeller Bangkok – Danish beer and more in Bangkok, Thailand

Mikkeller is a Danish phantom microbrewery, started in Copenhagen 2006. This, their latest venture in Thailand, focusing on unusual beers and tasty comfort food.

Never visited a Mikkeller bar, so I thought it could be fun to start in Thailand. 30 beers on tap and more on the bottle, we walked (and got lost) a good 1½hour before entering the airy and cold bar, and around 1600 we were also the first guests of the day.
30 beers on tap let’s have a look.
Happy to see the sign – 43deg Celsius outside.
Scandinavian decor and Ecuadorian Panama hat
They are not joking.. 30 beers on tap – not a boring one in sight
I had one from Amager where I was born. Other details lost in time, but tasty it was!
Not inexpensive for Bangkok, but very interesting selection of food and snacks
Fries 2.0, egg, truffle aioli, malt vinegar and a tomato ketchup
Followed by delicious charred Broccoli, Parmesan, pickled shallots and capers
Friendly and attentive service, food and beer that are loved – I will be back at Mikkeller soon. Probably not in Bangkok nor San Fransisco, more likely Copenhagen or Stockholm it will be.

Lessons Learned
  • Men my size shouldn’t walk long in moist sweltering heat when fully dressed
  • How streets are named and arranged in Bangkok
  • Mikkeller is about the unusual beers
  • And the food was a very pleasant surprise
  • Life is good…
