How 2 – Tim Raue, High end Asian fusion in Berlin, Germany

Tim Raue serves a Unique menu in Berlin, an Asian french fusion of very high quality

After a long day in Berlin it is time to dine… guided by it’s 2 Michelin stars and 19 Points by Gault Millau – We arrive @ Tim Raue’s restaurant with high hopes and very little research of what to expect.

Reception is warm, friendly and here we go..

First up 2011 Bechtheimer Riesling
Table Orchid
Finger snacks arrive.. Beautiful dishware!
Seaweed Wakame – A special for the princess
Finger licking good Lamb
and a Delicious pork belly
Fresh raw shrimp
Imperial Caviar, Japanese Cucumber, Grilled Marrow
A table top friend
And a wonderful pile of crap on the wall
Cauliflower, Black truffle
Turbot.. very perfect
Langoustine
Partrige, pumpkin and Alba truffle
2010 Gigondas
Peking Duck in 3 pieces – 1st the duck
2nd – the Fois with pickled cucumber (3rd was a soup)
Cured tongue with steak tatare
Shoulder steak in beef tea and coriander
1st A little bonus desert
then Apricot, Passion fruit dessert
extra snack for the coffee
Another one
And some chocolate to finish

The kitchen of Tim Raue has the same base fusion as We saw Victor’s gourmet restaurant and while really really good, here I think the Michelin is more correct than Gault Millau.

Everything on the plates were delicious very pretty, good taste and texture.. sometimes more french than Asian really worth trying when in Berlin.

Lessons learned

  • Very desirable dishware
  • Berlin can be expensive – to save money go for the lunch menu
  • Life is good….
